An indictment will be filed on Monday against three Arab brothers after the three stole a large amount of grapes from a Jewish vineyard just before Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement).

The brothers, who are residents of the Bedouin town of Hura, stole 250 kilograms (551 pounds) of grapes from a vineyard near Yatir, in southern Judea.

The South District Prosecutor's Office will submit the indictment to the Be'er Sheva District Court on Monday. The indictment will include charges of robbery under severe conditions, and disruption of court procedures.

According to the indictment, the three arrived at the vineyard a few hours before the start of Yom Kippur, and began filling boxes with grapes. The vineyard's security guard saw them and insisted they leave immediately.

The brothers did not heed the guard's request. Instead, they attacked the security guard and threatened to harm him if he reported the theft to the police. When the brothers left the vineyard, they beat the guard and punctured his tires.

Border Police investigated the incident and arrested the three suspects.

The court is expected to extend the suspects' arrest until the legal proceedings against them have been completed.
