An IDF soldier who went missing Wednesday in northern Israel was found dead Thursday afternoon.
The soldier became separated from his unit Wednesday near the town of Katzrin in the Golan Heights.
Following his disappearance, search and rescue teams combed the area for the lost soldier.
Search teams finally located the soldiers remains in the Golan Thursday, a full day after he went missing.
The IDF has notified the soldier’s family and opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
