El Al's first Dreamliner plane, a Boeing 787-9, landed on Wednesday morning at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, after a 14-hour flight from Boeing's Everett, Washington, factory.

Greeting the new plane were thousands of people, including government ministers, Knesset members, and US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman.

A special ceremony was held.

The Dreamliner will begin flying to Europe in September. In October, it will gradually begin flying long-haul to North America and the Far East.
