The Israeli Air Force on Tuesday night attacked two targets belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in northern Gaza, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said.

According to the statement, the airstrike was carried out in response to the rocket fire from Gaza on the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council on Tuesday evening.

"The IDF considers the Hamas terrorist organization to be solely responsible for what is happening in the Gaza Strip," the statement said.

The rocket that was fired on Tuesday evening from Gaza exploded in an open area. There were no physicals injuries or damages.

Late last month, Gaza terrorists fired a rocket which exploded in an open area near the security fence in the Eshkol Regional Council.

There were no injuries or damages in that attack either. IDF forces retaliated by attacking a position belonging to Hamas in southern Gaza.

Earlier in July, terrorists from Gaza fired a rocket towards the Sha'ar Hanegev region of southern Israel.

The Israeli Air Force later retaliated by launching airstrikes on two military infrastructures belonging to Hamas in northern and southern Gaza.
