Two of the three terrorists who carried out the terrorist attack in Jerusalem Friday morning wrote on Facebook three hours before the attack: "Smiles will be more beatific tomorrow."

An hour before the attack, one of the terrorists wrote, "Thank God and that is enough." They also posted pictures of themselves against the backdrop of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount.

A gag order was imposed at first on the identity of the terrorists. Two policemen were critically wounded and a third policeman was lightly wounded in the attack.

The Hamas terrorist organization praised the terror attack at the Lion's Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem and called it a "natural response to Israeli terrorism and to the desecration of the Al-Aqsa mosque. The attack emphasizes the continuation of the Intifada and the unity of our people behind the resistance."

In a video showing the elimination of the terrorists on the Temple Mount, one of them was seen standing up after being shot. He attempted to continue the attack before he was shot for a second time and eliminated.

Police Commissioner Roni Alsheikh held an assessment of the situation at the scene of the attack on the Temple Mount. "This is an unusual and extreme incident. The shooting on the Temple Mount is a serious, sensitive and significant event on the political and international level, and it will be dealt with accordingly," he said.

The commander of the Jerusalem district, Yoram Halevi, briefed the police commissioner on the main points of the initial investigation and the activities of the forces which pursued the terrorists until they were neutralized.
