President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu both participated on Monday evening in the Fourth of July celebration at the home of the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman.

The President thanked the Ambassador for his hospitality and expressed his warm wishes to President Trump and all the American people. He extended the special wishes of his wife, Nechama, to First Lady Melania Trump.

"For so many of us in Israel, this day is a special day, to celebrate democracy," Rivlin told Friedman. The two spoke of the strength of the relationship between Israel and the US, and of the strong cooperation in many fields, especially security.

The Ambassador told the President of his visit to the U.S. aircraft carrier that was docked in Haifa. He noted, "Of all the relationships, I have never seen anything like the relationship between the soldiers and militaries. There is a great level of respects and mutual appreciation."

As he left, President Rivlin wished the Ambassador and his wife "Happy July Fourth" and added, "We look forward to working together to strengthen even further the ties between our nations."

Netanyahu said that he is "committed to making Israel a warm home for the entire Jewish people, including in the Western Wall. All I ask is that you to be a bit patient."

The Prime Minister noted that President Trump's visit to Israel had left a deep impression. "When he touched the stones of the Western Wall, he touched the hearts of the entire Jewish people,” said Netanyahu.
