A section of the roofing at a popular Jerusalem wedding hall collapsed suddenly in the middle of a wedding Thursday evening.
Luckily, guests were able to avoid the falling debris and there were no injuries. Several guests did suffer from shock, however, and first responders from United Hatzalah were dispatched to the scene.
After the partial roof collapse, the wedding was stopped and relocated to a nearby hall.
Moshe Mizrachi, a United Hatzalah medic who responded to the incident, said it was “miraculous” that no one was struck by pieces of the roof as it collapsed.
“I was at a nearby gas station, and I reached the scene within a few minutes of receiving the call. Miraculously, all of the guests managed to get out in time and no one was hurt.”
"I requested the assistance of the Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit in order to help support those who were suffering from shock."
