US President Donald Trump is expected to sign on Wednesday night an interim order delaying the planned US Embassy move by six months, CNN reported.

May 31st is the deadline by which the President must either decide to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, or to sign an order delaying the move.

US presidents have signed interim orders delaying the move "for security reasons" every six months since Congress passed a law in 1995 recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital city.

According to law, the US Embassy must be located in a country's capital city.

Prior to his election, Trump pledged to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem.

If Trump does not sign the interim order, his administration will by default begin preparing to move the Embassy to Jerusalem.
