Arutz Sheva spoke with Rabbi Shalom Gold, Dean of OU Israel Avrom Silver college for adults, during OU Israel’s special event in honor of Jerusalem Day.

Rabbi Gold expressed his intense feelings of gratitude on the occasion of 50 years since the liberation of Jerusalem.

“The feelings on this day are the feelings of extreme, deep gratitude to G-d Almighty and to the young men and women who fought for this country.

“[...] A feeling that I’m so happy to be alive here, that we [merited] this...my zeide [grandfather] wasn’t but I am, and probably because of the prayers of all of our zeides for 2,000 years, we’re here. And I pity anybody who doesn’t feel in the depth of his heart the significance and the beauty and the power and the holiness of this day.”

Rabbi Gold’s complete speech at the event can be viewed in the video above.
