Donald Trump has taken a two point lead over rival Hillary Clinton, according to the latest USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times "Daybreak" poll.
According to the poll, which was largely conducted before the FBI announced that it had found new emails that may be relevant to its investigation into Clinton's private email server, Trump is leading among respondents by 46.2 percent to Clinton's 43.8 percent.
Other polls still show Clinton in the lead. The Real Clear Politics average shows Clinton with a 3.5 percent lead over Trump. That figure, however, still shows the race tightening, as just twelve days ago the same aggregate of polls showed Clinton with a 6.5 percent lead over Trump. Clinton's current lead falls within the margin of error.
Approximately three in ten Americans say that the FBI's announcement about Clinton's emails make them less likely to vote for the Democratic candidate, while about six in ten say that it will have no effect on their decision.
The US presidential elections will take place next Tuesday, November 8.
