A source close to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told Arutz Sheva Sunday night that Netanyahu is not seeking to kill the so-called "Amona Law" and that he is merely waiting for the Supreme Court's answer to his request to delay the destruction of Amona until next year.

Earlier in the day, Netanyahu had delayed discussion of the proposed legislation, prompting calls from supporters of Amona that Netanyahu had 'betrayed' them and angering several ministers in the government, including Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel.

The source told Arutz Sheva that the Prime Minister and the entire judicial system are engaged in a fierce 'war' behind the scenes with extreme left-wing groups which seek to prevent Amona from being saved from destruction.

The source said that if the Supreme Court rejects Netanyahu's request to postpone the demolition of Amona "all options are on the table."

Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit opposes the legislation, and has indicated that it will be 'difficult' for him to defend the law in court, not because it is unjust, but because Israel has not declared sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.

The issue of Amona could cause a coalition crisis. Several members of the Jewish Home party have vowed to vote against the proposed budget for the coming year if the "Amona Law" is not passed.
