According to an article in Highline about US Presidential candidate Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka, a friend of Ivanka's noted a correlation between the occurrence of the Jewish Sabbath and holidays and Donald Trump's more outstanding Twitter faux pas.

The friend attributed the correlation to the fact that Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner are not available on Shabbat and holidays – Jewish law forbids the use of electronic devices on these days – to manage Trump's virtual public relations campaign, and therefore cannot provide a "filter" for Trump's unfiltered style.

The friend noted, for example, that the holiday of Shavuot coincided with the Orlando nightclub massacre and Trump's ensuing Tweet: "Appreciate the congrats for being right on Islamic terrorism." Similarly, a few weeks later, Trump tweeted a six-pointed star [resembling a Star of David] above an image of Hillary Clinton, a pile of cash and the words “most corrupt candidate ever” – on Shabbat.

“It could be a big problem if the people who make our president not crazy aren’t available one day a week,” this friend asserted.

Ivanka converted to Orthodox Judaism when she married Kushner.
