Children from the hemato-oncology ward in Ichilov's "Dana-Dwek" Children Hospital in Tel Aviv were moved to tears when Judo Olympic medalist Yarden Gerbi offered her medal for sale. Yarden plans to donate the proceeds of the sale toward helping children with cancer who are being treated in Ichilov Hospital.

In response, the children made her a colorful poster, while the hospital team thanked Yarden, in an accompanying letter, for her strength and kindness.

"Yarden,

"Thank you for the strength you give us. Like you, we too will win!"

Professor Roni Gamzu, director of the medical center, praised Yarden as a true sports hero.

"Yarden proves that she is not just a champion on the field; rather, she is also a whole-hearted player with a true soul," he said.

"The whole hospital, and the children of the ward, thank her profusely for thinking of us, and for the support and encouragement she is giving to sick children."
