The Knesset Ethics Committee will hold a discussion today (Tuesday) regarding the complaint filed by MK Hanin Zoabi (Joint Arab List) against Deputy Knesset Speaker Nava Boker (Likud). Zoabi claims in the complaint that "Boker's statement not only tarnish my name, they put my life at risk."

MK Boker responded to Zoabi's claims: "I don't take back the things I said. Anyone who harms IDF soldiers is an enemy and needs to be dealt with as such. Zoabi thinks she's still on the Mavi Marmara attacking IDF soldiers, and when someone dares to challenge her she immediately yells that she's the victim. The simple truth is that she's the problem. She's the one inciting and encouraging terror. We saw the wave of terror that came after the last time she called IDF soldiers murderers. If Zoabi fears for her life it's about time she learns to keep her mouth under control an stop adding oil to the fire of incitement that brings about the death of innocents.

In her official complaint, Zoabi described the suffering to which she claims she's being subjected: "I want to make clear that due to the danger and uncomfortable atmosphere that's been created around me, even in the streets, when I go into stores or restaurants, even the medical clinic, I almost entirely avoid going around alone. Beyond that, I've had to avoid accompanying my family on holiday outings so as to not hurt their feeling, what with all the curses and screams and odd gestures directed at me. I considered using the services of a security agency, but I didn't want to give my family the feeling that I'm under threat and cause them to feel fearful so that their festive spirit would be ruined. I didn't want to expose them to the experience of violent behavior. These sorts of threats don't scare me, but naturally they cause me considerable anxiety, sadness, and anger."
