US Muslim leaders are waging a campaign against Republican nominee Donald Trump to ensure that he never makes it to the White House.

According to Reuters, United States imams hope to register a million Muslim voters from their respective communities, in hopes to defeat Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Trump has occasionally run an anti-Muslim platform. After the terror attack San Bernadino, California, he called to bar all Muslims from entering the US.

"We want the Muslim community to understand that if you give up your rights voluntarily, no one will come and give it back to you," said Osama Abu Irshaid, a member of the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations, a key player in the campaign.

The Council for Islamic-American Relations (CAIR), which, according to the Daily Wire, has been labelled a terrorist organization by multiple governments, is also active in the drive. Their executive director has publicly declared support for Hamas, according to National Review.

Awad said that the campaign is meant to combat an "unprecedented rise in Islamophobia," and that 300,000 Muslims have already registered since last November, Reuters reported.
