A 30-year-old Israeli man was shot and wounded near the Gush Etzion community of Tekoa on Saturday night.

MDA first responders are at the scene and treated the victim. He is now at Jerusalem's Sha'arei Tzedek Hospital, where doctors say that he is in moderate condition with a bullet wound to the shin.

Davidi Pearl, the head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council, has said: "Enough! The 'lone intifada' took a break and now returned with weapons. The Prime Minister and Defense Minister must make a drastic change in the field. We won't accept a situation in which the residents of Judea and Samaria go around like sitting ducks. We must make a change and immediately restore security for the State of Israel's citizens."

Last Wednesday, an Arab man drove his car into an IDF vehicle at the entrance to Neve Daniel, which is also in Gush Etzion. Three soldiers were lightly wounded, while the driver responsible was seriously injured.

The previous day, a terrorist tried to stab a soldier at a Samaria bus stop. The soldier shot and critically wounded her.
