Three Border Police officers were lightly wounded by Muslim rioters at Qalandia checkpoint near Jerusalem on Friday afternoon.

The officers were struck by rocks hurled by Arab rioters, who were waiting for permission to enter Israeli territory from the Palestinian Authority, on their way to the Temple Mount's Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

Security forces responded using riot dispersal means, including tear gas and non-lethal foam-tipped bullets.

The PA health ministry claimed that a Palestinian man in his 50s died as a result of inhaling tear gas, but that report could not be confirmed at the time of publication.

Palestinian violence has spiked over the past two days amid incitement in mosques throughout the country during Ramadan.

Also on Friday, an Israeli motorist was shot dead in front of his family, and his wife and children were wounded, in a drive-by shooting attack south of Hevron.

In Hevron itself, a Palestinian woman attempted to stab IDF soldiers earlier Friday, but was shot dead before she managed to harm anyone.

Today's Arab violence follows terror attacks yesterday (Thursday). In the first attack in Kiryat Arba, also near Hevron, a 13-year-old girl was murdered and a security first-responder wounded by an Arab knifeman.

The second attack that day occurred in Netanya, where two people were wounded in a stabbing attack.
