Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon reacted to the Chairman of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas’s refusal to meet with President Reuven Rivlin in Brussels.
"Mahmoud Abbas has revealed his true colors to the international community as the one who is constantly rejecting peace. Instead of agreeing to meet President Rivlin, or accepting Prime Minister Netanyahu’s repeated offers to begin direct negotiations, Abbas continues to incite against Israel," he said.
The ambassador continued: "His lies that Israel is committing 'mass murder' of Palestinians, and his representative's comparison between the Jewish state and the Nazi regime are examples of the incitement spread by the Palestinian Authority."
Ambassador Danon is in Israel for the upcoming official visit by Secretary General Ban Ki-moon this coming Monday. During his visit to Israel the Secretary General will meet with the Prime Minister and the President to discuss the various diplomatic initiatives regarding the Middle East and the global fight against terrorism.
