Deputy Defense Minister Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan met Sunday with the Elders' Forum of National Religious Rabbis including chairman Rabbi Haim Druckman, who heads the Ohr Etzion Yeshiva, the Bnei Akiva Youth Movement and the Center for Bnei Akiva Yeshivot.

During the meeting, the rabbis expressed their support for Jewish Home Chairman and Education Minister Naftali Bennett’s demands regarding reforms to the government’s security cabinet.

"These decisions relate to saving human lives,” the rabbis said, calling on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to place these provisions at the top of his priority list.

Bennett has conditioned his party's support for including the Yisrael Beytenu party in the coalition on the PM enacting reforms to the Security Cabinet, including the appointment of a military secretary whose task will be to ensure that all cabinet members are fully briefed on military matters.

Earlier on Sunday, Bennett made it clear that he has no intentions for withdrawing his demands and is not afraid to continue fighting from the opposition.

"I will continue to fight for and protect the soldiers of the IDF and the residents of the Gaza Belt from any position I will be in - from the government or from outside of it," said Bennett.
