Winter finally will recede into the background, forecasters predict Friday - with a slow rise in temperatures and a return to summery weather.

After several days' worth of flooding and torrential rains, the weekend is due to see clear-to-partly cloudy skies overnight Friday and clear skies Saturday nationwide.

Temperatures will rise Saturday to surpass the average for the season. 

Temperatures over the weekend will range from 11°C (51.8°F) - 24°C (75.2°F) in the Golan Heights; 15°C (59°F) - 29°C (84.2°F) in Tiveria (Tiberias); 12°C (53.6°F) - 22°C (71.6°F) in Haifa; 13°C (55.4°F) - 28°C (82.4°F) in the Jordan valley; 13°C (55.4°F) - 23°C (73.4°F) in Tel Aviv; 15°C (59°F) - 22°C (71.6°F) in Jerusalem; 20°C (68°F) - 30°C (86°F) in the Dead Sea area; 15°C (59°F) - 22°C (71.6°F) in Ashdod; 12°C (53.6°F) - 26°C (78.8°F) in Be'er Sheva; 15°C (59°F) - 23°C (73.4°F) in Mitzpe Ramon; and 20°C (68°F) - 31°C (87.8°F) in Eilat. 

Spring weather will persist through Tuesday of next week.
