New York Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) sat down with Arutz Sheva to discuss some of the top issues of the day, and warned that Israel has been making some missteps in facing several of its largest challenges.

Hikind began by speaking about the Islamic State (ISIS) bombings in Brussels, in which 35 people were murdered and hundreds of others were wounded.

According to the Assemblyman, Europe still "doesn't get it," even after the bombings and the ISIS attacks in Paris last November as well. He pointed out that Europe hasn't made a paradigm shift in its fight against Islamist terrorism.

Turning his attention to the BDS movement which seeks to economically attack the Jewish state, he warned that Israel and the Jewish community still has no organized plan on how to combat the efforts.

"We should have figured this out already," he said, but for now Israel is "only putting out fires." Hikind noted how BDS only targets the Jewish state out of all the countries in the world, adding, "it's not about Zionism, it's about Jews."

When asked about the IDF soldier who shot a wounded Arab terrorist in Hevron two weeks ago, Hikind said too many people jumped to condemn him, including Israel's top leadership.

The immediate criticism only gave the world more ammunition to attack Israel, the Assemblyman said, emphasizing, "we shot ourselves in the foot."
