Two people are reported dead after an accident involving an Amtrak train in Chester, Pennsylvania, south of the city of Philadelphia, early Sunday morning.

Amtrak's Train 89 was heading from New York City to Savannah, Georgia, when it derailed after striking a piece of construction equipment.

There were approximately 341 passengers and seven crew members on board.

All Amtrak services between New York and Philadelphia have been suspended.

Last May, an Amtrak train derailed near Philadelphia, killing eight people and injuring more than 200. Officials are still trying to determine the exact cause of that crash.

Last month, another Amtrak train derailed in Kansas, although no one was killed in that crash.
