Israeli security forces conducted a series of raids across Judea and Samaria overnight in a sweeping operation to pick up wanted terror suspects.
A total of 16 suspects across the Palestinian Authority were captured, including five near Tulkarem, one near Jenin, one in the Eit Beit al-Ma refugee camp in Shechem, one near Qalqilya, seven in the Ramallah district, and one in Hevron.
The IDF told journalists that 11 of the suspects were involved in “popular terrorism” and had participated in “violent disturbances” targeting civilians and security forces.
At least one of the suspects picked up in the operation is believed to be a terrorist active in the Hamas organization.
The crackdown comes in the wake of a series of cabinet decisions earlier this month aimed at reining in an ongoing terror wave that has left dozens of Israelis dead and hundreds more wounded.
In mid-March, Israeli police arrested hundreds of Palestinian Authority Arabs illegally residing in Israel.
