Tuesday’s terror attacks in Brussels, Belgium, have begun to affect the world of European sports, including Israel’s soccer team, currently abroad ahead of a friendly match against Croatia.

Israel’s soccer team is meant to play against the Croatian team on Wednesday, and is already at a hotel in Osijek, ahead of the match.

Moments after the fatal suicide bombing at an international airport in Brussels, security detail was added to the personnel already guarding the Israeli team. In addition, the soccer players, coaches and professional crew accompanying the team were instructed not to leave the hotel they are staying at.

Israeli players and crew members will only be allowed to leave the hotel for a final training session and for the game itself. The team will leave the hotel one hour before the start of the match, under heavy security.
