A stabbing attack was foiled on Monday evening in Jerusalem.

Two female terrorists from the village of Abu Dis were arrested at the HaZeitim Crossing in eastern Jerusalem. A search of their belongings revealed that they were carrying knives.

Upon interrogation, the 24 and 29-year-old terrorists admitted that they had traveled to the capital in order to commit a stabbing attack.

Both suspects were transferred to the appropriate security personnel for further questioning.

The deputy commander of the border police in the Jerusalem area applauded the thwarting, saying that “Border police, in conjunction with military police forces, act with determination and professionalism in order to keep the capital safe on a daily basis. Their operational alertness enabled the arrest to take place without casualties and prevented the suspects from entering the capital.”
