Shooting attack thwarted in Jerusalem
Two terrorists were eliminated on Sunday evening as they tried to carry out a shooting attack near the light rail station at the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem.
Police searched the area due to suspicion that the terrorists had hidden explosive devices, but no such devices were found and an all clear was given.
The terrorists opened fire towards a police force that was being briefed at the light rail station and were eliminated quickly. There were no injuries among the policemen.
Earlier on Sunday evening, terrorists from the village of Jilazun opened fire at homes in the nearby town of Beit El in Binyamin. No one was hurt but a home sustained damage.
On Sunday afternoon, a female Arab terrorist was shot as she tried to stab a Border Police officer adjacent to Hevron's Cave of Machpelah.
The terrorist approached a Border Police post adjacent to the holy site, and suddenly whipped out a knife and tried to stab one of the officers on duty.
The combat soldier responded by shoving the terrorist away and shooting her, critically wounding the would-be stabber.
