A stabbing attack against Israelis was attempted on Sunday afternoon at the western gate of Kiryat Arba, near Hevron in Judea.

No Israelis were injured in the attempted attack.

The female Arab terrorist - later revealed to be just 16 years old - was shot and neutralized by security forces at the scene.

"A stabbing attempt was thwarted," the Israeli army said in a statement to press, adding that the terrorist was "shot" without providing her condition.

The terrorist is now listed as being in light to moderate condition and is being transferred to one of Jerusalem's Hadassah Medical Centers, a spokeswoman for Hadassah confirmed.
