A Palestinian Arab terrorist attempted to shoot Israelis at the Gilboa-Jalame checkpoint near Jenin Friday morning.
The IDF confirmed in the moments after the attack that the terrorist was neutralized and that no injuries or damage were reported.
The Ministry of Defense tweeted Friday that the armed terrorist had begun shooting several meters from the checkpoint at IDF soldiers and Israelis, and that its own departmental security forces at the scene responded with gunfire.
Contrary to initial reports, the terrorist has not been eliminated, and has fled from the scene - possibly in a car with Palestinian Authority (PA) license plates, according to one report. IDF and security forces have launched a manhunt.
