British Jewish MP Luciana Berger lashed out at Twitter on Tuesday accusing the social media site of a "frustratingly slow" response to the orchestrated campaign of of anti-Semitism against her.

Speaking out about the abuse at a Parliament meeting on the threat of digital crime, Berger revealed she was still receiving anti-Semitic messages from Twitter users, The Jewish Chronicle reports.

In October 2014, at the peak of the campaign against Berger, the 34-year-old Labour MP was subjected to 2,500 abusive tweets within the span of three days.

“The tweets were incredibly abusive, they were threatening, they were distressing," Berger recounted. "They included images of my face superimposed on concentration camp victims, on very graphic porn images. They used the Star of David.”

Berger disparaged Twitter's reporting "frustratingly slow" reporting system, saying she was asked to "report any abusive tweets using what was then quite an onerous online system which took a few minutes to report every tweet.”

She added that Twitter had improved its reporting mechanism over the last year, but said contextualization was still a major problem, noting she had failed in having the use of the anti-Semitic slur "kike" removed.

“There is still an abundance of anti-Semitism on Twitter," she stressed. "I have a voice as an MP, but I do worry for that young teenage boy or girl who may be the subject of a barrage of hate messages. They may not have the ability to deal with it.”
