Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction saw fit on Thursday to hearken back to Nazi German anti-Semitism, and pay tribute to the genocidal Jew hatred that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu last week highlighted had Palestinian influences.

Fatah posted the cover of an anti-Semitic Nazi children's book from 1936 to its official Facebook page, as exposed by Palestinian Media Watch (PMW).

Together with the cover, replete with an anti-Semitic caricature of a Jew, was written in Arabic: "the cover of one of the children's books in Germany in 1936 whose title is: 'Trust no fox on his green heath, and trust no Jew on his oath.'"

Netanyahu last Tuesday suggested Nazi leader Adolf Hitler was not planning the "annihilate" the Jews until he met Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin al-Husseini in 1941, in a comment that was sharply criticized by his political opponents and the White House which Thursday night condemned his "inflammatory rhetoric."

But historians gave Netanyahu backing, saying his comment was important because it gave attention to the oft neglected role the mufti played in being one of the initiators of the Holocaust.
