To combat an ongoing wave of Arab terror, 300 IDF soldiers have been deployed to Jerusalem to patrol public transportation stations, buses and major traffic arteries in the capital.

The move follows a decision by the Security Cabinet as part of efforts to cope with the terror wave which, though it has struck across Israel, has been mostly centralized in Jerusalem.

According to the decision, soldiers are expected to bolster police forces in the capital until the establishment of a civilian security force for public transportation.

The implementation of this latest security measure comes several days after concrete barriers and random checkpoints were established near Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem.

The Security Cabinet has also discussed disallowing the rebuilding of demolished terrorists' homes as further punishment for their attacks against Israeli security forces and civilians.

Despite the anti-terror measures, the wave of attacks continued over the weekend with a total of five stabbings or attempted stabbings by Arab terrorists on Saturday alone.

Two of the attacks occurred in Hevron, one in nearby Kiryat Arba, and the second two stabbings took place in Jerusalem.
