Many of those wounded in Tuesday's two deadly terror attacks in Jerusalem were transported for emergency treatment to Shaarei Tzedek hospital.
Hospital officials say they received nine patients with a variety of wounds ranging from stab wounds to gunshot wounds and injuries consistent with being run over.
One patient was pronounced dead upon arrival, while another two were in critical condition, according to Dr. Ofer Marin, who heads the hospital's trauma unit.
After undergoing emergency surgery the two have stabilized, and there is no immediate threat to their lives, he added.
Two other patients were received with moderate wounds, including a young woman who had been stabbed in the chest. Another four were treated for light injuries.
Dr. Marin noted that since the latest outbreak of Arab violence, much of which has centered around Jerusalem, his hospital like many others had been on a high state of alert, and preparing for just such a "mass-casualty event."
"In the last two weeks not a single day [went by when] we didn't receive patients from terror incidents," he said.
Three people were murdered in the attacks, which were both preceded and followed by stabbing attacks in the central Israeli city of Ra'anana.
