IDF soldiers reported on Saturday night that Arab terrorists opened fire at their military post in the town of Beit El, located just north of Jerusalem in the Binyamin region of Samaria.

The soldiers say they returned fire at the terrorists, and IDF forces were deployed to the scene.

Currently the forces are checking the accounts of the soldiers and trying to track down the terrorists.

The incident occurs in the midst of a sharp uptick in terror attacks, during which two children were wounded Friday night by Arab gunfire on their sukkahs, festive booths Jews are commanded to dwell in during the Sukkot holiday.

Two Israelis were murdered and two others wounded on Saturday night in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem's Old City.

The flurry of attacks comes after senior Hamas official Mahmoud Zahar earlier on Saturday called for Arab residents of Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria to "mobilize" and "take up arms" in an open call for armed attacks against Jews.
