Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Thursday echoed the comments of his American counterpart Barack Obama the day before, claiming that Israel is the only country opposing the Iran nuclear deal and bashing American conservatives.

"Today, you observe that the only regime which is crying out since morning to night is the usurper Zionist regime," Rouhani said in a public address in the western part of Tehran province, reports the semi-official Fars News Agency.

Rouhani's statement is eerily close to Obama's words in a public address on Wednesday, in which he said, "every nation in the world which has commented publicly, with the exception of the Israeli government, has supported it (the deal)."

The Iranian president went on to concede that actually not only Israel, but also a growing majority of American politicians oppose the deal.

"Today all the regional nations and the great Iranian nation, except the usurper Zionist regime and the American warmongers, are happy with this big agreement," claimed Rouhani.

Oddly enough, this pronouncement also mimics Obama's comments, when he said, "it's those (Iranian) hard-liners chanting 'death to America' who have been most opposed to the deal - they’re making common cause with the Republican caucus."

The overlapping of Rouhani's comments with those of Obama made the day before may indicate that the Iranian ruler is taking notes from Obama as far as how to delegitimize and marginalize critics of the deal.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest on Thursday was caught in a lie on national TV, when he claimed that Obama's didn't compare Republicans to Iranian extremists chanting "death to America," before being read the quote by MSNBC reporters.
