Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel (Jewish Home) announced on Wednesday plans to regularly publish his appointment calendar for public viewing.

According to Walla! News, Ariel's datebook will be published every two months and will be available via his Facebook page and various media outlets.

"Transparency is the cornerstone of democracy," Ariel stressed. "I will regularly publish my appointment calendar."

"I have always acted to increase transparency in my work as an MK and Housing Minister, and during Israel Lands Authority meetings. I have also always supported [the call for more] transparency in the Ministerial Committee for Legislation."

"The public wants to know what we, as its representatives, are doing," Ariel explained. "As such, I've decided not to wait for them to turn to me according to the Freedom of Information Act, but to publish my calendar bi-monthly."

"I call on my ministerial colleagues in the government to do the same," Ariel added.
