An Israeli Arab who fought for Islamic State (ISIS) has died in terror operations for the group, it announced Friday morning.

Younis Medni Azaam, 27, from the town of Taibe in the north, joined ISIS five months ago according to Channel 2. Azaam had previously worked in construction.

Azaam allegedly fell during a shootout in Tadmur, which is ancient Palmyra - and which ISIS took over on Thursday to international uproar.

He leaves behind a wife and three children, one of whom is ten days old; his family has set up a mourning tent in their home.

Azaam is the fourth Israeli to be killed fighting for ISIS.

ISIS has been gaining prominence among Arab citizens of Israel. Five months ago, the Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shin Bet) busted an ISIS terror cell in the Galilee.

In October, sources revealed that no fewer than 30 Arab citizens of Israel had joined ISIS; there is a move in the Knesset to revoke their citizenship.
