Fighting continues in Yemen, despite a five-day humanitarian ceasefire that began Tuesday night.

Yesterday alone, at least 10 people were killed in the western city of Taiz.

The United Nations has largely ignored the ceasefire violations, other than a few remarks about "sporadic violations." There have been no Security Council resolutions or calls to investigate war crimes.

The country has been wracked by violence for the past few months, as Iran-backed Houthi jihadists first drove out President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, then a Saudi-led coalition began an air campaign against the Houthi. Both sides blame the other for not respecting the ceasefire.

It is estimated that 450,000 people have been displaced and 12 million do not have enough food because of the fighting.
