MK Miri Regev (Likud) on Sunday evening warned Hezbollah not to test Israel, hours after IDF troops eliminated four terrorists who were trying to place an explosive on the Israeli-Syrian border on the Golan Heights.

"I suggest that Hezbollah not test our vigilance," Regev warned. "Well done to the IDF soldiers who identified the squad of terrorists who placed an explosive device near the security fence in the northern Golan Heights, and to the Air Force which operated accurately and eliminated the squad and thereby prevented a heavy disaster.”

She tied the incident to the Iranian efforts to arm Hezbollah, saying, "Iran continues its efforts to strengthen and arm terrorist networks in order to harm Israel. Israel will not allow the arming of Hezbollah and will know how to protect its citizens."

"Hezbollah has already been dealt a heavy blow by the IDF and they should therefore be careful, because the moment they try again to cross the red line, Israel will respond forcefully," said Regev.

Earlier on Sunday, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon (Likud) warned that Israel will strike Iranian attempts to smuggle advanced weapons to the Hezbollah terrorist organization in Lebanon, following Arab reports that an IAF airstrike the day before took out a Scud missile depot in Syria transferring weapons to Hezbollah.

"Iran continues to try and arm Hezbollah, even in these very days, and it hopes to equip the Lebanese terrorist organization with advanced and precise weapons," said Ya'alon. "We won't allow Iran and Hezbollah to establish a terrorist infrastructure on our border with Syria, and we will know to put our hands on all those who threaten citizens of Israel, along all our borders and even far from them."

Meanwhile, Labor chairman MK Yitzhak Herzog also congratulated the army on Sunday night on the elimination of the terror cell.

"I support the IDF soldiers and commanders over the successful counterterrorism operation in the north which prevented a major disaster. The IDF once again demonstrates its strength and ability in dealing with recent events in different sectors, including the series of attacks in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria," Herzog wrote on Facebook.
