Hamas' military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, continues to threaten Israel with the abduction of IDF soldiers.

Such soldiers are used by Hamas, the terror organization that controls Gaza, as bargaining chips for the release of Palestinian terrorists serving prison sentences in Israel.

In 2011, Israel released over 1,000 terrorists in exchange for kidnapped IDF soldier, Gilad Shalit, who was held captive in Gaza for five years.

Abu Obaydeh, Al-Qassam's spokesman, said recently that the quest to release "prisoners" was "fundamental to the military concept of the Al-Qassam Brigades." The organization has no plans to stop, he added.

"The Al-Qassam Brigades has carried the torch for the release of prisoners since its establishment. It will continue to take this path until every last Palestinian prisoner has won his freedom."

Obaydeh stressed that that the issue of "Palestinian prisoners" will continue to remain a priority for the Al-Qassam Brigades, noting that its future actions will prove as such.

Currently, Hamas has possession of the bodies of two Israel soldiers - Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin - who were killed during last summer's Operation Protective Edge in Gaza.

In addition to threatening Israel with future abductions, Hamas also attacked the Palestinian Authority Sunday after reports surfaced that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu had retracted his previously stated belief in a two-state solution

According to Hamas, Netanyahu's alleged disavowal, which he has since denied, shows that negotiations with Israel were "a big lie."

Now, the terror group argues, the PA must walk away from the negotiating table and commit itself to a unity with Hamas in the "struggle against Israel."
