Anti-Semites flock together, former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad revealed Wednesday - after he proudly boasted meeting French comedian Dieudonne M'Bala M'Bala on his Twitter feed.

Iran’s hardline former president prided himself on his denial of the Holocaust, and has mostly stayed out of the public eye since his mandate ended in June 2013 and the election of Hassan Rouhani.

Dieudonne, meanwhile, is infamous for having his shows banned by the French government last year for their anti-Semitic, and oftentimes inappropriate, content.

He has also been convicted multiple times for inciting racial hatred against Jews; public authorities say he owes more than 65,000 euros ($84,000) in fines related to past convictions.

In addition, he is the inventor of the quenelle gesture, a reverse Nazi salute that has become extremely popular in anti-Semitic and extremist circles across the French-speaking world and worldwide.

French President Manuel Valls recently linked Dieudonne and Iran, according to a Le Figaro article published last month, stating in off-record comments to a French Muslim community leader that the comedian is "financed by Iran."

The daily notes that Dieudonne first visited the Islamic Republic in 2009, and met the then-president, where the two reportedly discussed their shared anti-Zionist views.
