The Israel Security Agency (ISA, or Shin Bet), arrested a 17-year-old Jewish youth in a nighttime raid on Od Yosef Chai yeshiva in Yitzhar, Samaria.
The youth was taken to the Nationalistic Crimes Section in the Central Unit of the Judea and Samaria District Police. He was interrogated regarding alleged involvement in puncturing the tire of a military truck that brought supplies to the Border Police forces, which have been occupying the study hall of Od Yosef Chai since last April.
The youth denies the charges, according to Attorney Adi Kedar of Honenu, the NPO that assists Jews suspected of nationalistic crimes. Kedar spoke to the youth in the early morning hours. The suspect will be brought to a magistrates' court in Petah Tikva Wednesday morning for arraignment.
Honenu notes that this is the second nighttime raid on Od Yosef Chai this month.
"A nighttime raid on a yeshiva, and the arrest of minors, involving the abuse of their rights, is a serious and offensive matter,” said Honenu. “We denounce the behavior of the Judea and Samaria Police, which repeatedly harms the things that are sacred to Jews, and the rights of Jews.”
