Baruch Marzel, Otzma Yehudit candidate at number four on the Yachad - Ha'am Itanu list, arrived at Tzahal Square in central Jerusalem on Sunday just minutes after Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and his bodyguards subdued an Arab terrorist who had stabbed a haredi Jew, lightly to moderately wounding him.

The officers prevented Marzel from getting too close to the Arab terrorist and confronting him, but Marzel was undeterred, facing off with the stabber and shouting out "death to terrorists!"

"The enemy is controlling the state from within, in the north in the Negev in Jerusalem and in the center," Marzel told Arutz Sheva. "The time has come for the government of Israel to take care of the enemy like it needs to and expel them from our land as quickly as possible."

Marzel added that Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor "Liberman babbles about a death penalty law for terrorists but in effect the interior security minister was a failed appointment of his," in a reference to the party's Yitzhak Aharonovich.

"Let me take the position for half a year and the terrorists will lose their motivation to attack," promised Marzel.

Regarding the death penalty, Israel in fact already has the penalty but has only used it once against Nazi leader Adolf Eichmann, although many have called to apply the law against Arab terrorists as well.

Writing on Facebook after the incident, he explained "this evening (again) a Jew was stabbed in Jerusalem, as it happened I passed by the area and when I came to the site of the attack - unfortunately the police had already caught the terrorist."

"Terrorists don't need to stand on their legs after they tried to kill Jews, they don't need to go on vacation and get a degree in jail. They need 'Marzel treatment' and I know how to take care of them," he pledged.

Video from the confrontation, in Hebrew, can be seen here.
