Kulanu Chairman Moshe Kahlon once again attacked the upper echelons of the government Sunday night, blaming various ministers and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for Israel's housing and cost of living crises.

"I intend to fight," Kahlon stated, at a packed Kulanu pre-elections event in Ashdod attended by other party candidates. "I am standing at the forefront of the battle, to do what they did not do before - not Netanyahu, not [former Finance Minister Yair] Lapid, not [Economics Minister Naftali] Bennett, not Buji [Yitzhak Herzog -ed.]."

"I will stand and fight on the front lines," he continued. "I did it in the past and I plan to do so in the future. I'm going to protect Israeli citizens from monopolies, tycoons, mobs, the cost of living and the housing shortage."

Kahlon attacked the outgoing coalition party leaders headed by Finance Minister Lapid, Bennett Economy Minister Netanyahu for not having done anything for two years, as he put it.

"Naftali Bennett represents a certain group of people but he was also the head of the Cabinet of the cost of living," he thundered. "Yair Lapid was the head of the Cabinet to fix the housing crisis, but as he sits there in the last two years housing prices rose by 16%."

"Today he comes and asks for another chance," he added. "He's making a joke. This is not some television game show you can return to."

Kahlon has presented himself consistently as the single-handed solution to the housing and cost of living crises, and both are the bulk of - and critics say, the only - issues addressed in his political platform.

Recently, he has begun turning criticism outward at specific ministers, with Netanyahu and Lapid the most frequent targets.

On Saturday night, he made similar remarks on a Channel 10 interview.

"The previous government is guilty for the current situation, but it is not alone. This government did nothing and consequently [the economic situation] has deteriorated in the past two years," Kahlon charged.

"Lapid and Netanyahu did nothing but argue," he added.

Recent polls suggest Kahlon's Kulanu will garner between 7-8 seats in the 20th Knesset.
