According to a report by Channel 2's security analyst, the Israeli security establishment intends to resume the policy – which it abandoned after the Oslo Accords in 1993 – of demolishing the homes of terrorists and of their families, as a means of deterrence.

The prime minister and the minister for public security will hold emergency sessions with the heads of the IDF and other security branches Monday evening to try and come up with solutions to put an end to the wave of terror attacks.

The Head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council, Davidi Perl, told Channel 2 News Online shortly after the incident that "we need to create deterrence; we need to deal with terrorists harshly. We need to destroy his family's house and the houses of all terrorists, and expel them to Jordan or Egypt. Tonight we will gather for an emergency meeting following the incident."

Perl blamed Palestinian Authority (PA) head Mahmoud Abbas, akas Abu Mazen, for the terror wave. He issued a statement according to which the attack at the Kfar Etzion bus station is “a direct continuation of the Third Intifada that Abu Mazen opened through serious, false incitement against the state of Israel. Abu Mazen must pay a heavy military and political price for the terror that comes out of the territory under Palestinian Authority control, and takes place with his inspiration and encouragement.”

"The residents of Gush Etzion stand today in a common front with the residents of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and vow to deepen their roots, build and develop, and thus give the ultimate response to the heinous terror.”

MK Danny Danon (Likud) said that “the citizens of Israel continue to pay a high price due to the lack of a decisive victory in the Gaza Strip. We must act with an iron fist and exact a price from the architects of terror who act in unison – Abu Mazen and Hamas, who have set a common goal before themselves – the elimination of the state of Israel.”

"It is time to stop talking,” he said. “Now is the time to put into operation plans that forbid the entry of Palestinians into Israel, the expulsion of illegal infiltrators to Gaza, an end to the VIP conditions that Abu Mazen and his government enjoy, and an immediate end of the transfer of funds to the Palestinian Authority.”
