Even as the Jerusalem Municipality and police step up their efforts to crack down on terror in the capital through the aid of surveillance balloons, Arab rioters attacked a Jewish car on Wednesday right by the Jerusalem District Court - for the second time this week.

The Arab assailants launched a barrage of rocks on the car on Salah e-Din Street, near the Jerusalem District Court in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood located north of the Old City, and just south of Hebrew University's Mount Scopus Campus.

None of those in the car were wounded by the potentially lethal attack, although damage was inflicted on the vehicle. Police forces have begun a search of the area to try and locate the perpetrators.

As noted, an identical attack took place earlier this week on Monday, on the same Salah e-Din Street right near the Jerusalem District Court.

The target in that case was a family car, driven by a couple with their seven children aged from six months to ten years old. Fortunately the young family did not suffer physical harm from the onslaught of rocks, although their car was damaged.

Jewish cars have been regularly coming in for rock attacks in a repeating cycle of ambush attacks in and around the capital.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on Monday revealed in the Knesset that rock attacks in Jerusalem were numbering 200 per month before Operation Protective Edge - since Hamas's terror war the attacks have spiked to 5,000 a month.

Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has been encouraging what one of his officials has termed the "Jerusalem Intifada," calling for violence in a manner almost identical to former PA Chairman Yasser Arafat's calls for the 2000 Second Intifada.
