Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) arrested 17 individuals overnight Wednesday wanted on security charges in Judea and Samaria. In light of Wednesday's terror attack in Jerusalem, soldiers increased their patrols and nabbed security suspects in a number of Arab villages and towns.
Detainees, including a Hamas terrorist, were arrested near Kalkilya, Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Shechem.
Meanwhile, police arrested an Arab rock thrower near the village of Dir Abu Mishal, in the Binyamin region. The rock thrower was found to be carrying a long knife. Under questioning he confessed to several terrorist incidents, including rock and firebomb throwing.
He also told authorities about others who were involved in terror incidents, and they are set to be arrested as well.
Wednesday's attack in Jerusalem occurred when a Hamas terrorist from the neighborhood of Silwan arrived with his car at the Givat Hatachmoshet (Ammunition Hill) Light Rail stop and ran over the people who were there, killing a three-month-old baby girl. Eight other people were injured in the attack.
A Jerusalem police officer shot the terrorist and seriously wounded him after he attempted to flee from the scene on foot. The terrorist died in hospital later on Wednesday.
The baby who was murdered in the attack, three-month-old Chaya Zisel Braun, was laid to rest in Jerusalem on Wednesday night.
