An Israeli Arab who was apparently trying to smuggle Palestinian Arab workers illegally into Israel tried to run over an IDF soldier at the Eyal interchange near Qalqiliya, Samaria Tuesday afternoon.

An IDF officer from the Kfir Brigade opened fire at the vehicle, injuring the driver; he was shot in the head and is in critical condition. The driver has been transferred to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba for treatment.

The soldier, meant to be the victim, was injured; large IDF forces from Kfir and other units have swamped the area and launched an investigation into the incident.

Hours ago, IDF forces swamped the Tel Aviv and Coastal areas to find two terrorist infiltrators into Israel. Both terrorists were arrested after an extended manhunt by ground forces and police helicopters.
