The names of the four IDF soldiers who were killed on Monday by a mortar shell near the Gaza border have been cleared for publication.

Staff Sergeant Eliav Eliyahu Haim Kahlon, 22, from Tzfat (Safed). His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 at the military cemetery in Tzfat.

Corporal Meidan Maymon Biton, 20, from Netivot. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in the military section of the cemetery in Netivot.

Corporal Niran Cohen, 20, from Tiberias. He will be brought to rest on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the military cemetery in Tiberias.

Sergeant first class Adi Briga, 23, from Beit Shikma. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at the military cemetery in Ashkelon.

All four served in the 7th Armored Brigade of the IDF.

A fifth soldier, First Sgt. Moshe Doino, 20, of Jerusalem, was killed in the course of fighting inside Gaza in the early afternoon.

Since the campaign in Gaza began, 48 IDF officers and soldiers were killed.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu sent his condolences to the bereaved families.

"I would first like to send my condolences to the families of those who fell in defense of the country, and we all hurt their passing," Netanyahu said in a statement to reporters at the Kirya in Tel Aviv.

''There is no war that is more justified than that in which our heroes are fighting, and I would like to strengthen the hands of the Israeli soldiers who continue, even at this hour, to act boldly in Gaza against our enemies,” he added.
