The IDF Spokesperson's Office has released the name of an Israeli soldier killed Saturday night in Gaza on Sunday morning, the forty-third since Operation Protective Edge began nineteen days ago.

Master Sergeant (Res.) Barak Refael Degorker (hy"d), 27, from Gan Yavne, was killed fighting terrorism in Gaza.

"The soldier was killed by a shell that was fired from the Gaza Strip at Israeli territory," a spokesperson told AFP Sunday morning. 

Degorker's family has been notified.

Forty-three soldiers and two civilians have died since Operation Protective Edge in Gaza began on July 8. 

Earlier Sunday, the IDF announced the funeral times of five soldiers killed over the weekend, to be held later in the day. 

The funeral of Lieutenant Roi Peles, 21, from Tel Aviv, will take place Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery.

The funeral of Staff Sergeant Guy Levy, 21, from Kfar Vradim, will take place Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the cemetery in Kfar Vradim.

The funeral of Staff Sergeant Guy Boiland, 21, of Ginosar, will take place Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the cemetery in Ginosar.

The funeral of Staff Sergeant Amit Yeori, 20, from Jerusalem, will take place on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl.

The funeral of Staff Sergeant Abraham Grinzweig, 20, of Petah Tikva, will take place Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at the military cemetery in Petah Tikva.

The funeral of Staff Sergeant Gal Basson, 20, from Holon, will take place on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in the Holon cemetery.
