The IDF has accomplished all of its determined objectives in Gaza, a senior military officer told Arutz Sheva on condition of anonymity Friday, as Operation Protective Edge enters its eighteenth day.

The IDF is now working to locate and destroy additional terror tunnels, he added - which weave their way throughout Gaza.

"Only after detonating the tunnels do we sometimes see their length, from the big blast waves," the officer stated.

Several soldiers were wounded overnight Thursday/Friday, including a Golani commander who was seriously injured when the wall of a terror tunnel collapsed.

Meanwhile, major disturbances were reported throughout Palestinian Arab settlements in Judea and Samaria overnight. Thousands of Palestinian Arabs rioted in Qalandiya; two were killed in clashes with police and security forces.

The IDF has dispersed huge forces throughout the region Friday, which is the last Friday of Ramadan, to prevent more violence. Another senior military official told Arutz Sheva Friday morning that the disturbances will not go unnoticed, and that continued rioting will elicit a response.
